About

My MBiol research focuses on using seismic sensors and machine learning techniques to quantify individuality and behaviour in giraffes. This project combines traditional ecological and behavioural survey methods (bioacoustics and camera trapping) with emerging techniques of bioseismics and machine learning. This will have applications in conservation and future demographic and behavioural research.

Previous experience includes an undergraduate research project analysing the effects of path use and anthropogenic disturbance on mammalian community composition in primary rainforests, as well as surveys of ecosystem health as a Young Darwin Scholar with the Field Studies Council.
